A newly assembled 40mm automatic GMT watch with an individually aged matte-black dial, warm vintage-tone lume and a black aluminium 24-hour bezel. Its dark, restrained colour scheme, weathered 316L stainless-steel case and aged three-link bracelet create the softened character of a well-travelled vintage tool watch. A red GMT hand and magnified date display add practical everyday functions.

The clean no-logo dial uses circular hour markers, rectangular markers at 6 and 9, and a triangle at 12 o’clock. The conventional hour, minute and seconds hands display local time. A separate red arrow-tipped GMT hand is read against the bezel’s 24-hour scale to follow a second time reference. The date appears beneath a magnifier at 3 o’clock.

The unidirectional rotating bezel contains a predominantly black aluminium insert marked with a complete 24-hour scale. Its darker, more understated appearance distinguishes this model from the red-blue, black-red and ghost-bezel GMT versions. Aluminium provides a thinner and more traditional visual profile than a glossy modern ceramic insert, although it can acquire additional marks through contact with hard or abrasive surfaces.

Every dial, case and bracelet is aged individually. The distribution of the matte dial texture, warmth of the lume and weathered surface marks will therefore vary slightly between watches. Small differences in the bezel’s surface character are also expected. These variations are intentional and form part of the design. The watch is newly assembled with an aged finish; it is not antique, pre-owned or refurbished.

The 316L stainless-steel case measures 40mm excluding the crown, 13mm thick and 48mm from lug to lug. This gives it a slimmer supplied profile than the 16mm GMT models in the collection. Its standard 20mm lug width accepts many compatible replacement straps. A flat mineral glass crystal protects the dial and incorporates the date magnifier. The screw-down crown helps keep the case securely closed after winding or setting, and the supplied aged three-link stainless-steel bracelet continues the weathered exterior.

Inside is a Mingzhu DG3804 automatic mechanical GMT movement. It winds through wrist movement and can also be wound manually through the crown. The movement uses 21 jewels, runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and provides hacking seconds for more precise time setting. Its displayed functions include hours, minutes, seconds, GMT and date. Approximate power reserve is 42 hours when fully wound. No battery is required.

Each finished watch is checked on a timing machine in three positions before dispatch. Workshop acceptance targets are a measured rate within ±15 seconds per day, amplitude above 220 degrees and beat error below 0.6 milliseconds. These readings are acceptance checks rather than a guarantee of the exact daily rate on the wrist.

Every completed watch is individually water-resistance tested after final assembly to 20 ATM, equivalent to 200 metres of static pressure.

This rating should not be interpreted as a recommendation to dive to a depth of 200 metres. Our watches are not represented as ISO 6425-certified professional diving instruments and are not recommended for deep or professional diving.

Always keep the screw-down crown fully secured around water and never operate it while the watch is wet or submerged. Water resistance is not permanent, so periodic pressure testing is recommended, particularly after servicing or a strong impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. This is a newly assembled automatic watch with an intentionally aged vintage-style finish. It is not represented as an antique or as a watch that acquired its patina naturally over decades.

  • The bezel insert is specified as black aluminum and remains predominantly black. Its surface may show aged marks or slight tonal variation, but it's not a bleached ghost bezel.

  • The red arrow-tipped GMT hand is read against the bezel’s 24-hour scale to display another time reference alongside the conventional main time.

  • Yes. The date appears at 3 o’clock and is enlarged by a magnifier in the crystal.

  • The watch is fitted with a flat mineral glass crystal, giving it a clean, low-profile appearance rather than the raised shape of a domed crystal.

  • No. The Mingzhu DG3804 is an automatic mechanical movement. It winds through wrist movement and can also be wound manually using the crown.

  • The movement has an approximate power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound. Actual running time can vary according to winding level, movement condition and use.

  • Every finished watch is tested in three positions. Movements already within our acceptance criteria are not adjusted unnecessarily; movements outside the required range are adjusted or replaced. Actual daily accuracy can vary with position, temperature, power reserve, magnetism and wearing habits.

  • The overall design, specifications and colours will remain consistent. However, the dial and exterior finish are aged individually, so the precise texture and distribution of markings may vary.

  • No watch should be described as completely waterproof. This model is individually tested after final assembly to 20 ATM and carries a 20 ATM / 200 m water-resistance rating when the case is properly sealed and the screw-down crown is fully secured.
